Position: CMM Programmer
Status: Full Time
Hours: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm

Responsible for developing, writing, and validating Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection programs used to inspect manufactured precision machined products. Creates and optimizes measurement routines from engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements to support First Article, In-Process, and Final Inspection. Operates the CMM and additional precision monitoring and measuring instruments as a member of the Quality Control team. Communicate well with others and properly document and report out of tolerance items immediately. Accurately maintain paperwork, computer logs and other required documentation on a consistent basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops, writes, and debugs CMM inspection programs from engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements
- Establishes part alignments, datums, and measurement strategies to ensure accurate and repeatable results
- Validates and optimizes new programs through trial runs and correlation studies before release to production
- Operates the CMM to perform First Article, In-Process, and Final Inspection
- Selects and builds fixturing and stylus configurations appropriate to each part
- Maintains and organizes the CMM program library and revision control
- Interprets GD&T and engineering specifications to determine inspection requirements
- Generates inspection reports and properly documents out-of-tolerance conditions
- Supports First Article Inspection (FAI) and AS9100 documentation requirements
- Works with Manufacturing and Engineering to resolve dimensional and quality concerns
- Trains operators on the proper running of established CMM programs
- Performs inspection using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments as needed
- Maintains the CMM and measuring equipment in calibrated, good working order
- Keep work space clean and orderly
- All Quality Assurance Technician duties as required
- Other duties as assigned by management
- 3-5 plus years of CMM programming and inspection experience in a precision machining environment
- High school diploma or GED; technical certificate or some college in a related field preferred
- Proficient programming CMMs using industry-standard metrology software (offline programming a plus)
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD models
- Familiarity with the operation of the following equipment: calipers, micrometers, CMM, blade mics, hole mic, inside-depth mics, flange, thread, gland, multi anvil mics, dial bore gauges, indicators, height gauge, V-blocks, 123 blocks, sine bars, squares, protractor, pin gauges, tooling balls, deltronics pins, and radius gauges
- Experience with MS Word and MS Excel
